The Higher Secondary School, Anducode was established in the year 19-05-1930 as a vernacular Malayalam Middle School in the centre of Anducode Village by the late Thiru. S. Purushothaman Pillai of Varakkal Veedu Palukal. He was a Pioneer in the field of education The founder was really a scholar, thinker and entrepreneur who had his ambition to shed light of Education in this area which was then considered as the most educationally backward area of Vilavancode Taluk. The founder suc- cessfully steered this school in various capacities for a pretty long period and he has enjoyed the love and affection of all pupils, staff and local public till his last
As a result of the change in the education policy of the former Travancore Cochin Government, School was converted into a new type English Middle school and was accessed to the PS. S. Scheme in 1950. The Tamil Nadu Government accorded sanction to upgrade this institution to the status of a High School in the year 1959
